Gaming Journal: Week 33 (Exorcism and Stuff)

This week Mom performed an Exorcism.

…Not really****…in game. You can see the storyline where we picked up over on my Tumblr.

World of Darkness Week 33

Who: Rays + Matt
What: World of Darkness
Why: Monthly Game
+ BONUS to Exorcism Roll: I rolled a major amount of successes to perform an exorcism on another party member. I am hoping to have all of the notes up on a Tumblr soon. (Check around Labor Day) Due to technical difficulties I couldn’t get it posted before this.

We Didn't Play Test This Week 33

Who: Rays +Matt
What: We Didn’t Play Test This
Why: Needed a break from Darkness
+ to …. wait, the game is over? Roll: This game is just…ya.

image

Who: Monday group (minus a couple)
What: Roll For It
Why: Jonathan just got back from Gen Con.
+ 6d6 to Roll: The artwork is different than the copy we have. The container can be used to roll in. It’s still a good basic game.

image

Who: Monday group (minus a couple)
What: Machi Koro
Why: More Gen Con games
+ to Roll: Be a mayor and build attractions. Kind of a cross between Dominion and Yard Master. Lots of strategy, but a lot of fun.

image

Who: Monday Group (minus a couple, plus a kid)
What: Meteor
Why: Games! How can you go wrong?
(insert muffled voice here) roll: You aren’t allowed to talk in this cooperative game…unless you draw the one card that allows you to talk. Considering this is timed – I didn’t know if that element was really necessary. I like co-op games, but I don’t know if I would play this one again.

image

Who: Monday Group (minus a couple, plus a kid)
What: Romans Go Home!
Why: Cuz’ I could play the McReds!
+ to Roll: It should be a rule that you have to play with a Scottish accent. This is a game that reminded me of Eggs and Empires/Guillotine mash-up.

image

Who: Next Door Neighbors
What: King of Tokyo (plus expansion)
Why: Haven’t played games with them in a really long time
+ to first roll: This is the first time we have played with enough people to use BOTH Tokyo and Tokyo Bay. It didn’t change the game as much as I thought it would.

image

Who: Next Door Neighbors
What: We Didn’t Playtest This
Why: Because it is just plain silly
There will be no rolling unless you have a banana…or a big red button

image

Who: Next Door Neighbors
What: Word on the street
Why: More games needed to be played…even though a couple people went home.
+ to Roll: This game is a good way to practice spelling without letting the kids know they are learning.

image

Who: Next Door Neighbors
What: Tsuro
Why: Needed a quick game to end the night
+ to Finding Your Path: I seem to keep forgetting about this game. We played it so many times the year we bought it that I need to remind myself it is on the shelf and can support several players.
